Hillary Clinton takes Texas

Presidential Candidate Hillary Clinton won in Ohio, Texas and Rhode Island Tuesday night, denting Barack Obama’s delegate lead in a riveting Democratic presidential race.

Hillary Clinton won three of four primary contests. But that made a little influence to eat into Obama’s pledged-delegate that has a lead of more than 100. It is highly unlikely for Clinton to take the delegate lead from Obama, which means he can still make the case that he is the candidate of the people.

Unlike Clinton’s loony effort to tag Obama as a plagiarist, these attacks may have been effective. The attacks picked up in the final days before the vote, and Clinton won handily among voters who made up their minds in the last three days.

The economy was the No. 1 concern on the minds of Democratic voters in Texas, Rhode Island and especially in Ohio. But in Vermont, almost as many voters said the war in Iraq was their top concern.
